Angel Karaliychev (1902–1972) is a writer and translator, one of the most widely read children's authors, whose works have been translated into over 50 languages. He worked as an editor and contributor to several periodicals, including the children's "Venet", "Detska radost", "Svetulka". He wrote stories, travelogues, fairy tales, authorized fairy tales and legends from Bulgarian and foreign folklore. In 1974 he received the H. K. Andersen Diploma of Honor.
Nikolay P. Todorov (1907–1988) was a journalist, translator and author of fairy tales, son of the writer Petko Yu. Todorov. He worked together with A. Karaliychev and together they published a series of fairy tales of the Slavic, Soviet and Balkan peoples.
