After a long break in 2026, we present a new edition of "THE HUMAN BODY" by Godfried Bames.

The textbook "The Human Body" by Godfried Bames has been a basic tool in the teaching of plastic anatomy for students of fine arts in many countries for decades. The Bulgarian translation was made according to the latest, ninth revised edition from 1997. It fully preserves the structure and distribution of the material in the original, corrects some factual errors, and brings the Latin names into line with the new anatomical nomenclature of 1998. In order to preserve the logic of the exposition, some of the author's descriptions that deviate from classical anatomy have not been changed. For the convenience of readers, a short terminological dictionary is also included in the edition.

"The Human Body" will help Bulgarian students, prospective students and students in the study and mastery of the form-forming structures of the human body. The detailed illustrative display and synthetic photographic material allow the publication to serve both as a reference material and as a valuable teaching aid for both beginners and practicing artists.
